• Day 1 ⇾ Arrival
• You will be welcomed by a representative of Great Lakes Safaris who will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on the time of arrival, our guide will take you on a city tour for an exciting introduction with the capital. Visit some interesting and historical sites, including the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, the Uganda Museum and of course the African Craft Village. We also advise you to have money changed today. Overnight at Orchidea Guesthouse.For upgrade you can stay at Le Petit Village.

• Day 2 ⇾ Kampala – Murchison Falls National Park
• On the first day we will depart for the most beautiful protected area in Uganda: Murchison Falls National Park. Enjoy a lunch stop in Masindi before we enter the park. We will visit the magnificent falls where you will enjoy and marvel at the mighty Nile. The famous waterfall is being forced into a seven meter crevice, to thunder 45 meters below in a serie of cascades. This spectacular scenery can be viewed from different points up at the baler’s summit. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Rest Camp.For upgrade you can stay at Paraa Safari Lodge.

• Day 3 ⇾ Murchison Falls National Park
• After an early morning breakfast you will enjoy a half-day game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, escorted by a ranger. Game in this part includes the elephant, Rothschild giraffe, Jackson hartebeest, lions, oribis, waterbucks and a variety of savannah woodland birds. After lunch we will go on a Nile cruise for game viewing at close quarters. Watch how hippos take a bath, elephants come to drink and crocodiles lying lazy at the shores. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Rest Camp.For upgrade you can stay at Paraa Safari Lodge.

• Day 4 ⇾ Murchison Falls – Fort Portal
• We depart Murchison Falls and head towards Fort Portal. The drive is almost eight hours but will provide you with some stunning views as you pass small African villages and banana plantations. The lovely town of Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon and is famous for the many tea plantations. Dinner and overnight at the cottages of Primate Lodge Kibale.For upgrade you can stay at the deluxe safari tents of Primate Lodge Kibale.

• Day 5 ⇾ Semliki National Park
• After breakfast we drive towards Semliki National Park. The scenic, winding road will lead us through green mountains and offers you a magnificent view at the River Semliki and Congo. After arriving in the protected area, a ranger will accompany us on a beautiful nature walk through the Ituri Rainforest. Enjoy the peacefulness of the forest, look out for the rich birdlife at the swamp and boil an egg in the hot springs that have become an interesting natural attraction. It will be completed with a picnic lunch provided by the guide, while you explore the real Africa. Later in the afternoon we return to Kibale Forest. Dinner and overnight at the cottages of Primate Lodge Kibale.For upgrade you can stay at the deluxe safari tents of Primate Lodge Kibale.

• Day 6 ⇾ Kibale National Park & Bigodi Swamp
• Today the forest opens it doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale Forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, red-tailed monkey, black-and-white colobus monkey and many others. After a hearty lunch we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different nature walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is an initiative of the local community and takes approximately two hours. The swamp is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Dinner and overnight at the cottages of Primate Lodge Kibale.For upgrade you can stay at the deluxe safari tents of Primate Lodge Kibale.

• Day 7 ⇾ Kibale – Queen Elizabeth National Park
• We transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a beautiful route via Kasese, with the Rwenzori Mountains on your right side and the green valley on the left. A game drive on our way to the accommodation in the middle of the national park gives us the chance to spot waterbucks, warthogs and other wildlife. After lunch we take on a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Thanks to the elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. Dinner and overnight at Simba Safari Camp.For upgrade you can stay at Mweya Safari Lodge.

• Day 8 ⇾ Queen Elizabeth National Park
• The day begins early as we head for the mating ground of the Uganda kobs. We search for lions, elephants, buffaloes and other wild animals in their natural habitat, before returning for lunch. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to stretch your legs as we will visit the Maramagambo Forest for a walk through the tropical forest. It is known for the Blue Lake and the Bat and Hunters Cave. You will get the chance to have a close look at the bats and maybe even the rock python and forest cobras, that feed on the bats. The same walk will provide you with views of primates, different bird species and beautiful fauna. Dinner and overnight at Simba Safari Camp.For upgrade you can stay at Mweya Safari Lodge.

• Day 9 ⇾ Queen Elizabeth National Park – Bwindi
• After breakfast you may choose for the optional activity of exploring Kyambura Wildlife Reserve (not included). Driving through a grassland area, all of a sudden we come across an amazing gorge of one hundred meters deep, covered with tropical rainforest. You will hike into the gorge of the Kyambura River in search of the wild chimpanzees. It is a beautiful walk through the river valley, home to many birds and butterfly species.Later we will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and head towards Bwindi. The scenic route runs through a verdant countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms. In Bwindi dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas.For upgrade you can stay at Mahogany Springs.

• Day 10 ⇾ Bwindi Gorilla Safari
• Another highlight of your safari: a meeting with the gentle giants of Bwindi! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to foresee how many hours you will hike, it may take two to eight hours. Expect to walk a long distance in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and unforgettable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas.For upgrade you can stay at Mahogany Springs.

• Day 11 ⇾ Bwindi – Lake Bunyonyi
• After breakfast you can choose to have a guided village walk for a closer meeting with the local community. Learn about their way of living as you walk through coffee, tea and banana plantations. Afterwards we depart to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. This area is often called “Little Switzerland of Uganda” and boosts one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Relax or go for a canoe trip while you watch the beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Camp.For upgrade you can stay at Birdnest Resort.

• Day 12 ⇾ Lake Bunyonyi
• After the challenging and strenuous hike in Bwindi, some relaxing moments on the shores of this peaceful lake are most welcome. The options here are birding, nature walks, swimming or canoeing (not included). Dinner and overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Camp.For upgrade you can stay at Birdnest Resort.

• Day 13 ⇾ Lake Bunyonyi – Lake Mburo National Park
• After breakfast we drive to Lake Mburo National Park which takes us about four hours with lunch en route. As we enter the park and head towards the accommodation it is likely that you will see some wildlife, like impalas, topis, warthogs, zebras and buffaloes. After checking in you will go on a boat ride on the lake and enjoy the rich birdlife and the hippos that are cooling off. Dinner and overnight at Mburo Safari Lodge.For upgrade you can stay at Mihingo Lodge.

• Day 14 ⇾ Lake Mburo National Park – Kampala
• Early start of the day as we will go for a nature walk guided by a ranger. Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. After breakfast we transfer to Kampala with a stop at the equator for photos or shopping. Arrival late in the afternoon in Kampala. Overnight at Orchidea Guesthouse.For upgrade you can stay at Le Petit Village.

• Day 15 ⇾ Departure
• Enriched with an experience of a lifetime and unforgettable memories you will say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa. Depending on the time of departure you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. We are looking forward to seeing you again!

12-DAY CUSTOMIZED TOUR PACKAGE, SAFARI & GORILLA TREKKING

Fly into Entebbe and overnight at the booked accommodation. On the next day, transfer to Murchison Falls NP with en-route rhino tracking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Proceed to the edge of Kibale Forest. Bigodi wetlands excursion and connect to Queen Elizabeth NP. Afterward, transfer to Bwindi via the Ishasha area – known for its tree-climbing lions’ population. Enjoy gorilla trekking in Bwindi before relaxing at Lake Bunyonyi and visiting Lake Mburo NP. Lastly, you’ll return to Entebbe Airport.

DAY 1 ARRIVE AT ENTEBBE AIRPORT, PICK UP AND TRANSFER TO THE BOOKED HOTEL

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a Home to Africa assigned English-speaking Professional Tour Driver-guide will receive and welcome you to Uganda – the Pearl of Africa. Thereafter, you will transfer to the booked accommodation. You will check in and take your rest – recovering from jet lag, adjusting to time difference. #Optional (extra cost): Just in case you reached early and interested in some activity, you may consider; a). excursion to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens to sight a few primates and birds, b). excursion to Mabamba wetland in search of the prehistoric shoebill stork. Otherwise, check in and just take your rest.

 

DAY 2 TRAVEL TO ZZIWA FOR AN HOUR OF RHINO TRACKING AND PROCEED TO MURCHISON NP

Be up early, have breakfast and drive off to Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Once there, you will proceed for an hour of on-foot rhino tracking. From the rhino tracking, head to Masindi where you will have a lunch stop. After lunch, embark on the transfer to Murchison Falls NP. The highlights of this park include the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park where you will have the chance of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. Then surely, the concentration of hippos and the Nile crocodiles here will fascinate you. If interested and time allows, you can proceed for a late afternoon-evening game drive.

 

DAY 3 MORNING GAME DRIVE/SAFARI AND AFTERNOON BOAT TRIP UPSTREAM TO THE FALLS

Have your breakfast, depart for an early morning game drive across the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park and be on the look for wildlife including: lions, leopards (though hard to spot) among others. For any birder, there are quite a number of birds to sight too during the drive. Return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will head out for the boat trip to the base of Murchison Falls where you will also be able to catch sight of more animals including Hippos and Crocodiles and several water birds. #Optional (extra cost): If interested, continue with a hike to the top of the falls. The hike may be a strenuous one but the thrill on reaching the top is unforgettable. Return to your accommodation and relax.

DAY 4 DRIVE TO THE TOP OF THE FALLS AND TRANSFER TO THE EDGE OF KIBALE FOREST NP

We will have breakfast and then drive to the top of the falls to truly appreciate the beauty and magnificence of the Murchison Falls. From the top, we shall embark on a transfer that will see us overnight at edge of Kibale Forest National Park. The drive is quite long but incredibly scenic – passing through villages, lush green countryside and hills dotted with tea plantations that characterize this part of Uganda. The beautiful scenery will amaze you all the way. Upon arrival at the accommodation, check in and just relax. #Optional (extra cost 15$): If interested, you can proceed for the crater lakes excursion. You will enjoy the beauty of the numerous small lakes, surrounded by gentle hills, and the stunning views all over. Else, just enjoy your rest at the facility.

DAY 5BIGODI WETLANDS EXCURSION AND TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NP, THEN GAME DRIVE

Have breakfast and proceed for the Bigodi wetlands excursion. The Bigodi wetland boasts of extensive array of biodiversity among which are several primates’ species like the black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkey, and baboons. The Bigodi is also a paradise for bird watchers. Among the major bird species within the area is the Great Blue Turaco. From Bigodi, we shall embark on a transfer (about 2hrs) to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will reach Queen early enough to have lunch, rest and then proceed out for game viewing. During the game drive, look out for wild animals like reedbuck, bushbuck, kob, warthogs, elephants, lions and buffaloes to mention but a few. Alternatively, you could choose to go for the Queen’s breathtaking explosion crater drive (instead). Return to the accommodation and take your rest.

 

 

DAY 6 CHIMP TRACKING IN KALINZU FOREST RESERVE, AFTERNOON BOAT TRIP – KAZINGA CHANNEL, AND SOME GAME DRIVE

Be up early, have breakfast and drive out to the nearby Kalinzu Forest Reserve. The Forest is home to habituated Chimpanzees plus other primates including baboons, monkeys and also bird species. Today, you will spend the early part of the day tracking chimpanzees here. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for some rest time and lunch. After lunch, you will go for a 2-hour boat trip on the Kazinga Channel that connects Lakes George and Edward. During the trip, the sight of wildlife including giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others will fascinate you. You will also see many varieties of birds at the water shores. After the boat trip, you can proceed for a brief late afternoon game drive and thereafter, return to the lodge.

 

DAY 7 SUNRISE GAME DRIVE – KASENYI PLAINS AND HEAD TO ISHASHA SECTOR, THEN CONNECT TO BWINDI

Be up early and proceed for an early morning game drive in the Kasenyi plains. Be on the look for Cape buffalos, herds of elephants, lions, leopards (though hard to spot) among others. Return to the lodge and check out then head to Ishasha sector in search of tree-climbing lions. The chance of spotting these lions is about 70% though sometimes they are hard to spot (most especially when they are down in the grassland looking for prey). Should you get to spot them, the sight is picturesque and memorable. From Ishasha, we shall continue to the accommodation at the edge of Bwindi National Park (Buhoma sector). Once at the lodge, we can choose to just relax OR (at extra cost 15$) move out for the late afternoon-to-evening local community and cultural encounter.

 

 

DAY 8 BWINDI FOREST WALK/HIKE – WATERFALLS TRAIL AND TRANSFER TO THE RUHIJA SECTOR OF BWINDI

We will have breakfast and then move out for the Forest walk along the waterfall trail. This is the perfect way to experience the depth of this “impenetrable” forest. Starting from Buhoma – at the north gate, Munyaga river trail gets you to some beautiful pristine waterfalls – a truly rewarding experience. Along the way you will encounter some flora and fauna, black and white colobus monkeys, sometimes blue monkeys among others. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to the Ruhija sector of Bwindi where we will have the gorilla trekking tomorrow. With a strenuous day ahead, we recommend that we take this afternoon relaxing.

 

DAY 9 GORILLA TREKKING BWINDI FOREST AND TRANSFER TO LAKE BUNYONYI FOR RELAXATION

Have breakfast and move to the rangers’ post. You will receive some briefing (from a ranger guide) on the dos and don’ts during trekking. Thereafter, you will enter the Bwindi Forest for your adventure. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you have located a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle but endangered giants is unforgettable. Return to the accommodation, check out and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of (2,200 – 2,478m) but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical — you could admire them all day.

 

DAY 10 RELAXATION WHILE ENJOYING THE STUNNING BEAUTY OF LAKE BUNYONYI

After days of long drives and of course the strenuous gorilla trekking (previous day) in Bwindi, this day is at your disposal for relaxation. All meals will be served at the accommodation. Optional (at extra cost): Should you wish to go out for an activity, you may consider the following; Historical Islands’ tour, visit to the Batwa/pygmies’ community, Nyombe swamp excursion, Mountain Bike cycling, Zip lining, canoeing or kayaking on the lake. The activity can be arranged onsite with the help of your driver-guide. Enjoy your stay.

DAY 11TRANSFER TO LAKE MBURO NP AND ENJOY AFTERNOON (EVENING) GAME DRIVE

Have breakfast and set off to Lake Mburo NP via Mbarara City. You will arrive at the accommodation in Lake Mburo in time and rest before moving for an afternoon-to-evening game drive. On the game drive, expect to see the gigantic eland antelopes, zebras, topi, impalas, Uganda kob and Cape buffalos among others. Later, relax at the accommodation where you will spend the night. #Optional (extra cost 30$): If interested, you may consider the night game drive to encounter nocturnal creatures which will be a rare sighting compared to the regular daytime sightings.

 

DAY 12 MORNING WALKING SAFARI IN THE PARK AND RETURN TO ENTEBBE TO CATCH FLIGHT

Enjoy your early breakfast and proceed for the Mburo morning park (bush) walk in the presence of an armed Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger-guide. On this early morning guided walk, you will have the opportunity to encounter (at close range): Zebras, Giraffes and Eland, Topi and other antelope, Cape buffaloes among others.

Take the Trail to the top of the hills and see Lake Mburo and beyond. From this vantage point, you will have a great view of 9 of the twelve lakes surrounding Lake Mburo NP. Thereafter, return to the accommodation for checkout and then hit the road to Entebbe airport to catch flight (1800hrs or later).

Day
1: Arrival at the Airport

You will be picked by our driver/guide who will transfer you to hotel of your booking for overnight. He will brief you about the tour and what time to pick you on day 2.

Day 2: Road Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will head off to Kidepo Valley National Park passing via Luwero, Gulu and Kitgum. You will have lunch in Gulu and then proceed Kidepo via Kitgum.

Day 3: In Kidepo Valley National Park

After an early breakfast you will head inside the Kidepo Valley National Park for a game drive. Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses. From Apoka, in the heart of the national park, a savanna landscape extends in all directions, far beyond the gazetted area of 1442km2, towards horizons outlined by distant mountain ranges. In the afternoon you will go for a cultural visit of the Karimajong tribe.

Day 4: Game Drive in Kidepo Valley National Park

Start with an early breakfast and then go for a game drive along the trails of Kidepo Valley. The park inhabits one of the most exciting faunas of any Ugandan parks, with over 80 species of mammals several of which are endermic to Kidepo National Park like the cheetah, the striped hyena the caracal and over 465 bird species including the ostriches. In the afternoon visit the Karamojong village to learn more about their culture, music and dance Karamoja has a cattle culture and the Karamojong are notorious as cattle raiders. Unlike most other Ugandans, many Karamojong shun western-style clothes and instead wear “traditional” dress of a blanket -like shawl, often in red and black. The women wear elaborate beadwork.

Day 5: Road Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Early in the morning after breakfast, and then leave for Murchison falls national park the northern sector with lunch along the way. The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45m over the remnant rift valley wall, creating the dramatic Murchison Falls, the centerpiece of the park and the final event in an 80km stretch of rapids. The mighty cascade drains the last of the river’s energy, transforming it into a broad, placid stream that flows quietly across the rift valley floor into Lake Albert. There are a lot of animals to see on your way to the hotel through the park such as elephants, giraffes and buffaloes; while hippos, Nile crocodiles and aquatic birds are permanent residents.

Day 6: Game Drive in Murchison Falls National Park

In the morning we will go for the game drive, special are here the lions, giraffes, Elephants, Leopards,

Uganda Kobs and many more animals… In the afternoon we have the impressive launch trip on the Nile to the Falls. Hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, elephants and many birds will be seen

Day 7: Visit the Top of the Falls

Early morning the boat will take us downstream to the delta. The place where the Nile enters Lake Albert. This trip of 5-6 hours will show us all the beauty of this national park especially the delta with all the different birds. Here is a good chance to see the elusive Shoebill stork! In the afternoon is a visit to the top of the Falls, a wonderful view.

Day 8: Road Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Early morning departure for the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park. We will pass close to Lake Albert, on a clear day the view from the top of the Albert rift is spectacular. Via Fort Portal we reach our lodge in the Evening.

Day 9: Game Drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park

This day is for a game drive on the plains of Queen Elizabeth with thousands of Ugandan kobs, lions, elephants etc. Also on the program is a two hours launch trip on the Kazinga channel where we will see all the animals from the waterside.

Day 10: Game Drive and Later Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

On this day we shall have another morning game drive to increase the chances of seeing much wildlife, later go to the Lodge for hot lunch and transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.

Day 11: Game Drive in Lake Mburo National Park

Early morning we will go for a game walk. In the afternoon a boat trip on Lake Mburo followed by another game drive in the afternoon / early evening. This little park hosts a variety of animals, that is to say 68 mammal species, including a large number of impalas (the antelope from which “Kampala” is named after), zebras Uganda kobs, duikers bushbucks, Ankole cattle topis, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyenas, waterbucks, warthogs, oribi. There are 315 bird species including; shoebill stork, red faced barbet, crested crane, papyrus yellow warbler. The vegetation is mainly open Savannah of Acacia trees, Olea and Boscia.Lake Mburo is a natural haven for fauna and flora. The bank teems with animals and birds. Crocodiles and hippopotami are permanent residents, and buffalos come to drink during the dry season. Others include; impalas (the antelope from which “Kampala” is named after), zebras Uganda kobs, duikers bushbucks, Ankole cattle topis, buffaloes, leopards, spotted hyenas, waterbucks, warthogs, oribi. The wide variety of resident birds includes Malachite Kingfishers, Pied Kingfishers, African Fish Eagles, Rufous Long-tailed Starlings, Blue-headed Weavers, Green-necked Doves, Hammerkops, Pelicans, Herons, Cormorants and even rare Shoebills.

Day 12: Road Transfer back to Entebbe/ Kampala

After breakfast the last part of the journey will bring us back to Kampala. On the way back you will have lunch at the Equator, and there will be an opportunity to a stop for photo shoots and buying souvenirs and have tea or coffee.

Day 1: Kampala – Mount Elgon.

Early morning departure from Kampala heading for eastern Uganda. Drive past local communities, tea, sugarcane plantations and colorful fruits along the roadside. Stop over at Ssezibwa Falls for a cultural feel of Uganda. Continue to Mbale town located on the foot hills of Mount Elgon. This area has got a rich heritage and culture. Have lunch and continue to Sipi Village located between beautiful hills and waterfalls.

Day 2: Mount Elgon.

In the morning after breakfast, go for a hike to the Mt. Elgon forest exploration center for guided walks. The nature walk will provide you with views of regenerating forests, fields of colorful flowers, extensive stands of bamboo and the chested bee-eater. Two different day hike areas allow you to explore Mt. Elgon’s diverse montane forest. The popular forest exploration center trail loop site can make one enjoy the cool mist at Chebonet falls, Kapkwai cave, the talking tree and a spectacular viewpoint, which lies just beyond.

A long ‘arm’ of Mt. Elgon bears the Wanale trails loop site. It has vertical cliffs of ridge and several cascading waterfalls that make a very scenic drive. Look for petrified wood in the Khauka caves as you enjoy splendid panoramic view over the plains of Eastern Uganda.

These two day hike areas have short walk trails ranging between 3km and 11km that offer an excellent opportunity to experience Mt. Elgon’s unique plants and wildlife in a short time period. Jungle walking shoes and rain gear are recommended in addition to extra cells for your torch if you plan to explore the caves. Have a quiet afternoon, relaxing after lunch.

Day 3-Mountain Elgon to Kidepo valley national park

Early in the morning after breakfast you will transfer to Kidepo valley national park.

Day 4 – Early morning Game drive and Community walk in the afternoon

After your early morning breakfast, you will have a morning game drive to Kanangorok hot spring. Kidepo Valley National Park harbors a total of 86 mammal species, making it the National Park with the third highest number of game in Uganda, Kidepo National Park also protects a far greater variety of large mammals than any other national park in Uganda that including 28 species found nowhere else in Uganda. Her bird species checklist has 463 confirmed and 26 of which are unconfirmed. Kidepo NP is only matched by Queen Elizabeth National Park.

After having your lunch at the lodge you will go to Karenna and Kapedo for a cultural performance by the native Karamajong people. You will dine and spend the overnight.

Day 5: Early morning Game drive and an Evening Game Drive in Kidepo valley National park

Today morning you will go for another game drive and later on return to your lodge for breakfast and lunch. After lunch relax and wait to go for an evening game drive along the Narus River Valley where you will view Elephants, herds of Buffaloes, Jackals, and Jackson’s Hartebeest, Klipspringer and Lions plus many other mammals.

Day 6: Drive to Murchison from Kidepo

Your guide will drive you to Murchison having your lunch en route. On arrival in Murchison National Park you will visit the top of the falls in the evening and cross by a ferry to Paraa Safari Lodge. Where you dine and overnight at Paraa Safari Lodge for Luxury (Full Board), Murchison River lodge for mid-range (Full board)

Day 7- Murchison Falls National Park tour

After an early morning breakfast, embark on a game drive to the north of the River Nile following delta tracks that runs west from the ferry jet at Paraa to the Lake Albert Delta. The 20 km2 area of grassland adjacent to the Victoria Nile delta- as it flows into Lake Albert has an overwhelming concentration of wildlife to the fascination of any tourist.

Go back in the afternoon enjoy a boat cruise to the bottom of Murchison falls. The launch trip to the base of the falls is the highlight of most trips to Murchison Falls, but the boat cruise downriver from Paraa towards the Lake Albert delta is best for birdwatchers, because it offers the best opportunity to see shoe bills than anywhere in Africa, especially during the rainy season. You will have excellent Game viewing on this trip such as hundreds of hippos, the largest crocodiles left in Africa, black-and-white Columbus monkeys, small herds of buffalo, bush buck, water buck, kob, and giraffe, Elephants, and if lucky lions and leopards. Day 8: Murchison to Kibale Forest national park

Early in the morning after breakfast transfer to Kibale forest national park.

Day 9: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park

After morning breakfast, you will start your journey to Kanyanchu. You will be briefed at 08.00am before tracking the chimpanzees. The chimps are man’s closest living animals. There are no motor tracks open to tourists at the park so they are only accessible by foot. After lunch a visit to Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site given its astounding flora and fauna will be a time worth adventure too.

6 DAY WILDLIFE, GORILLA & CHIMP SAFARI

Day 1: Travel to Kibale Forest National Park

Our Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking tour begins today. We will depart from Kampala after breakfast and head westwards to Fort Portal town.

This route to meet the primates will take about 4 -5 hours. We will have lunch in Fort Portal and continue to Kibale where you will go for either a community walk or visit the beautiful Crater lakes region for a spectacular scenic view of the beautiful landscapes in the evening.

Dinner and overnight will be at your reserved lodge.

 

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and nature walk in Kibale Forest

After breakfast you will report at the Kanyanchu Tourist Centre for a briefing on the rules before the Chimpanzee tracking experience at 08.00 am.

The trek for the Kibale chimps takes 2-3 hours and it will provide you with the opportunity to also see a variety of other primates and animals as well as birds, and various species of butterflies and insects.

You will return to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon go for a nature walk in the Bigodi Wetland to see a variety of birds and monkey species. You will have dinner and overnight at your lodge

 

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park and then Boat cruise on Kazinga Channel

You will proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park and go straight for a 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel. The 42km channel joins Lake Edward and Lake George. This boat trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos in Africa and offers an excellent opportunity for photography, bird watching and game viewing.

The prolific bird life is colorful, with well over 550 resident species. Dinner and overnight will be spent at your reserved lodge.

 

Day 4: Game Drive and transfer to Bwindi

You will wake up early for a morning game drive in the park to see Lions, Elephants, Topis, Leopards, Bush bucks, Cape Buffaloes, Defassa Waterbucks, Giant Forest Hogs, Uganda Kob, among others. You will later transfer to the Ishasha sector of the Queen Elizabeth National Park to spot the tree climbing lions. Enroute the Primates Tour, you will make stopovers at the Bat cave and the Kyambura gorge. You will then set off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park arriving in the evening. Enroute you will see a great country-side, bamboo forest and have great views of the scenic landscape characteristic of the western rift valley.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi and Cultural tour

You will have an early morning breakfast and move to the park headquarters to join other trackers in a briefing about the gorilla trekking rules at 7:45 am.

You will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the mountain Gorillas, which can take you 1-8 hours.

The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access by tourists. You will have 1 hour to stay with the Gorillas once sighted before returning to your lodge.

 

Day 6: Travel to Kampala

Our Primate and Wildlife Safari in Uganda ends today. After breakfast, we set off on the return journey to Kampala.

We will have a stopover at Igongo cultural centre to explore the life style of the Ankole and Bahima people and at the Equator where you will have the remarkable opportunity of standing in two hemispheres at the same time and take some photos. You will arrive in Kampala in the late afternoon and either be transferred to the airport for your departure flight or to the hotel of your booking for dinner and overnight.

6-DAY MURCHISON FALLS, CHIMP AND EPIC GORILLA TREKKING

Head to Murchison Falls National Park and expect: boat trip to the base of the falls plus a hike to the top of the falls. Transfer to Kibale for chimp trekking. You will be fascinated by the primates’ population here. Queen Elizabeth National Park makes your next stop where you expect classic big games (including chances of sighting the rare tree-climbing lions) and boat trip on the Kazinga channel. Visit Bwindi for the ultimate gorilla experience. Exit Bwindi for the Airport.

Day 1 Pickup and Transfer to Murchison Falls NP

Hopefully, your flight is scheduled for an early (not past noon) landing in Entebbe. Your Guide/driver will pick you from the Entebbe International Airport and hit the road to Murchison Falls National Park. The highlights of this park include: the roaring rapids of the Murchison, the rolling plains of Uganda’s largest National Park where you will have the chance of viewing lions, giraffes, hartebeest, buffalo, and elephants. Then surely you will be fascinated by the concentration of hippos and the Nile crocodiles here. For any birder, Murchison Falls boasts 450 bird species including the elusive shoebill stork (though a rare sighting), dwarf king fisher, the white-thigh hornbill and the Goliath heron among others. you make a stopover in Masindi in order to enjoy your lunch. Continue to the park and check in to your accommodation to relax for the Evening.

Day2 Murchison morning game drive and the afternoon boat trip to the base of the falls

After an early breakfast, tour the Northern section of Murchison with a high concentration of savannah wildlife. Enjoy game viewing and photography of elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, giraffes, Uganda kob and lions, the leopards (if you’re lucky) plus a variety of bird species.

Return to your accommodation for lunch as you prepare to have a 3-hour boat trip to the base of the falls. This trip is said to be the highlight of the safari in Murchison falls since it allows you to get up close to the animal species within the water. Cruise past huge hippo pods, crocodiles and numerous aquatic birds adorning the north bank on the way to the mighty waterfalls. You will have an opportunity to take thousands of pictures.

Also, proceed for a hike (if you like) to the top of the falls. The hike is a strenuous one but the thrill on reaching the top is unforgettable. Miss it only if you must! Return to your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 3 Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park

After breakfast at your accommodation, drive to the top of the falls where you will have spectacular view of the falls. after you depart for Kibale Forest National Park after breakfast.

Kibale is popular for its primates like the chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, mangabeys and red tailed monkeys. On your chimpanzee trails, these are regularly seen swinging in the forest trees and others feeding on the wild fruits. You will reach and do little but check into your accommodation where you will have dinner and the overnight rest.

 

Day 4 Chimp trekking in Kibale forest and later transfer to Bwindi impenetrable forest

Today you will experience some serious primate business! Kibale Forest National Park boasts the highest number of primate species in the world, including the chimpanzees. Approximately 5,000 chimpanzees live in the wild in Uganda, which makes it a perfect place to spot them! An experienced ranger will take you chimp tracking in the morning.

The activity begins at 8.00am with a briefing regarding the rules of trekking the chimpanzees after which you set off to search for them in the forest. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will have a full hour with them. You will return to the lodge for lunch after which you will head out for Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will arrive in the evening and overnight at your booked accommodation.

 

Day 5 gorilla trekking in Bwindi and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation

After an early breakfast and a briefing by a ranger guide, you will enter the gorilla sanctuary for your adventure. The beauty of this rain forest is spectacular! The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored.

Return to your lodge. Have your lunch and thereafter check out for a transfer to Lake Bunyonyi. Lake Bunyonyi is framed by lush, green-terraced hills that reach a height of (2,200 – 2,478m) but it’s the 29 islands of various shapes and sizes scattered across the water that make it most magical — you could admire them all day.

Day 6 return to Entebbe

Have a relaxed breakfast at the accommodation with spectacular view of the Bunyonyi little islands just right in front of you and thereafter embark on your return journey to Entebbe Airport. Expect en route stopovers in Mbarara town for lunch and the Uganda Equator line mark in Kayabwe for some memorable photos and maybe buying some art pieces of interest. 3-DAY TOUR TO UGANDA – GORILLA TREKKING BWINDI FOREST

You are expected to arrive a night before the safari or have an early morning landing. The assigned tour driver/guide will pick you up and depart for Bwindi National Park. Encounter the gorillas first hand on your trekking expedition. With strenuous day trekking, it would be ideal to find a better place for relaxation. That place will certainly be Lake Bunyonyi – the place of little birds. You will transfer to Lake Bunyonyi after the gorilla trekking.

DAY 1 ARRIVE ENTEBBE (EARLY), PICK UP AND DEPART FOR BWINDI NATIONAL PARK

We hope that your flight is for an early landing (before 10:00 am) in Uganda. Your safari will start from Entebbe International Airport where the assigned professional tour driver-guide will receive you and then depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda, harbouring over 300 of them, which is almost half of the world’s gorilla population.

The drive will take you to southwest Uganda by road. You will cross the equator mark, then head to Mbarara city for lunch, thereafter pass through the hilly terrain of western Uganda into Bwindi. You will arrive and do little but just check in to your accommodation and relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the next day.

3-DAY EXPLORE QUEEN ELIZABETH

Queen Elizabeth National Park spans the equator line; monuments on either side of the road marking the exact spot where it crosses latitude 00. The park was founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park and renamed two years later to commemorate a visit by Queen Elizabeth II of England. The park is home to over 95 mammal species and over 600 bird species. The Katwe explosion craters mark the park’s highest point at 1,350m above sea level, while the lowest point is at 910m, at Lake Edward.

 

Day 1 To Queen Elizabeth National Park

Breakfast for day one will be provided at the hotel or your place of residence, followed by a meet, greet and briefing on the 3 days Queen Elizabeth Tour by our driver. There will be a number of stopovers including at the Uganda Equator along Masaka road. Here you will be able to stand in both the northern and southern hemispheres and also experiment how water swirls in different directions when placed in the northern and southern hemispheres. Take photos and even buy some of the beautiful souvenirs. Head straight to lodge.

 

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise

Start the day with early game drives that expose us to diverse animals including the Big Five—elephants, buffaloes, big cats- lions, leopards, and rhinos. More times in the evening, warthogs, hunchback carnivals like hyenas are spotted along the circuits as we drive along, and many more species that are residents to this park. There is a rich birdlife especially our version of storks in the wetland spots as we reach the flamingos in the salt lakes at Kasenyi.

Enjoy a boat cruise on the famous Kazinga Channel, a 36km channel linking Lake George and Lake Edward. Here you’ll see land and water adapted hippos yawning, the National Geographical society killing machine, the Nile crocodile, gaping along the banks and savannah version of pigs, the warthog-Pumba are a hallmark sign in this animal home. With your binoculars along the peninsula, you’ll have a magnificent view of birds and animals like the ever-playing African elephants in waters.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Kampala/Entebbe

With wonderful memories of the previous day, you will have a heavy breakfast as you prepare to visit the twin lakes at kichwamba orphanage and some cultural dances before departure back to Entebbe airport.

walk at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, the breeding project which saw the rebirth of the endangered white
rhinos in Uganda. You can see them closely while walking freely in the reserve which is their natural

Day 3: Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, you will embark on an early morning game drive; explore the savannah in the delta of
the Nile on Lake Albert, Northern bank. As you view and take memorable photographs of the animals in
the wild, you might find elephants, lions, buffalos, giraffes, waterbucks, bushbucks, spotted hyenas and,
very rarely, the leopards. Drive back to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon, you take the boat excursion along the river Nile to the base of the magnificent
Murchison Falls. It is amazing the concentration of wildlife in the bank of the river Nile, including hippos,
crocodiles, and a variety of bird’s species, like African eagles, pelicans, kingfisher, Egyptian geese and
much more. You proceed from the excursion with the walk to the “top of the falls, where the river Nile
creates a narrow canyon of thunderous water as it lowers down the Albertine Rift Valley. You will have a
view from the top of the falls.

Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking in Budongo Forest

Early morning after breakfast you drive to Budongo Forest, in Kaniyo-Pabidi eco-tourist site, for the
tropical forest trekking to meet the Great Apes, the chimpanzees in their natural habitat. The forest also
is home to many other primates such as black and white Columbus monkey, red-tailed monkey, blue
monkey, vervet monkey and baboons. The chimpanzee trekking is possible due to the conservation
efforts by Jane Goodall Institute and the park authorities to protect the forest and the endangered
chimpanzees. Lunch or packed lunch. In the afternoon, you can take a cultural activity with the Boomu

Day 5: Hoima-Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, you leave Hoima heading southwest along the Lake Albert and Rift Valley escarpment,
with breathtaking panoramic sceneries as you drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. A stopover is
made in Bugoma Forest South of Hoima. Bugoma Forest is the habitat of the chimpanzees and Ugandan
mangabeys.
According to the time available, we suggest to take a nature walk in the forest or to plant a tree. Lunch
en route in a restaurant. The road follows along the Rwenzori mountain range to Kasese town.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth National Park

In the early morning, take a game drive along the tracks of the national park, in the Northern sectors
and towards Lake George and Kasenyi village. You might see lions, elephants, buffaloes, spotted hyenas,
waterbucks, Ugandan kobs, perhaps the leopard which is a rare sight. Queen Elizabeth enjoys unique
landscapes and views of crater lakes and the Albertine Rift Valley, which make this area special and
unforgettable. Lunch.
In the afternoon, take the most exciting safari by boat from Mweya peninsula along Kazinga channel,
one of the most popular sites in Uganda for its concentration of wildlife, bird’s life and opportunities for
good photographs. Moreover, you will see plenty of hippos, buffaloes and elephants while drinking from
the channel.
In the evening short transfer to the Ishasha sector of the park, for check-in at chosen accommodation.

Day 7: Ishasha Sector – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast, photographic safari in the Ishasha sector, the southern region of Queen Elizabeth NP, in
search for the “tree climbing lions” which are seen during the hot hours of the day, as they lie resting on
top of Figs trees. See also herds of buffaloes, elephants, topi antelopes and many species of birds. Lunch
en route.
Note: Today transfer can be very long up to 7 hours and depends on roads conditions and place of
allocation of gorilla permits. The choice of the area of the gorilla safari depends on the availability of
permits.

Day 8: Bwindi Forest National Park

In the morning you enter the tropical rainforest of Bwindi for the gorilla safari. The activity starts at 8 am
and you will follow the ranger guides in a group of maximum 8 people as you search for the habituated
family of mountain gorillas, which was allocated according to the permits. Bwindi forest in Uganda has a
population of about 420 gorillas, which is half the world population according to 2012 gorilla population
surveys. It is not predictable the time you will spend to encounter the gorillas. You have one hour for
observing the primates and their behaviours while taking photographs. Ensure you take the packed
lunch and water with you in the bag and for this; you might need the support of available porters.

Day 2: Drive to Kibale National park

Drive early from Kampala city through the scenic tea plantation to Fort Portal (Western part of Uganda)
where you will stop for lunch. Kibale is particularly alluring to nature lovers known for its excellent
chimp tracking and birding, worth also noting having the highest concentration of primates in East Africa
of about 13 primates. Such include chimps, vervet, red-tailed, L’Hoest and blue monkeys. Go for an
afternoon primate walk to Kanyanchu river camp, the most popular walk in the park. It highlights a
miscellany of flora and fauna within the forest.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and Bigodi Swamp walk

Today you will have the opportunity to track chimpanzee that leaves Kanyanchu at 8:00 am.
The forest walk will expect to take 2 to 3 hrs. where you will follow chimpanzees, meet up with them as
they go about with their daily activities and watch them for an hour. After lunch, you will do a swamp
walk at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, which is probably better for general monkey viewing and one of the
finest birding trails in the country. Overnight at your previous lodge.

For an extra US$70 per person, you can do the chimpanzee habituation tracking instead of the regular
chimp tracking. This will take the whole day and you will be 100% sure to come face to face with chimps.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Have breakfast at the lodge; relax before driving to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth
National Park together with Kyambura and Kigezi Wildlife Reserves form one of the most diverse
ecosystems in Africa. There are a series of two main lakes, George and Edward, as well as the connecting
Kazinga Channel. Thousands of hippos populate these lake shorelines. Open savannah dotted with
Acacia and Euphorbia trees provide habitat for elephants, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs and big herds of
buffaloes.
An afternoon Game Drive is good for Hippos and elephants viewing in large numbers as we widely look
out for the Leopards.
You stay in Marafiki Safari Lodge which is located on a unique location overlooking Lake George in the
Queen Elizabeth National Park it offers private safari tents on raised wooden floors and canvas walls
that can be rolled up to allow you to sit comfortably watching the Savannah Plains with breathtaking

Day 5: Game Drive and Boat safari

Set off quite today with packed breakfast for an early morning game drive to catch the early risers in the
Kasenyi Sector of the park. Expect to see elephants, buffaloes, lions, waterbucks, Uganda Kobs and quite
a number of others. Return to your lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon head out for a 2 hours launch cruise along the Kazinga channel where you will see large
concentrations of wildlife along the banks of the river like hippos, bathing elephants, buffaloes, a large
number of bird species. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour. After the boat safari
you have an en-route game drive back to the lodge.

Day 7: Gorilla tracking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi for Relaxation

Get up early and report to the Park headquarters for a brief talk with the guide; from here you will hit
the montane forest for an encounter with the mountain gorillas. Watch out for their voices and listen to
them grumble and the young as they swing from tree to tree, and marvel at the sheer size of the
dominant male; the silverback.
It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rain forest knowing you are with a few of the last
remaining mountain gorillas. The time taken to track the gorillas can be as few as 2 hours to as many as
7 hours. The gorillas you track belong to one of nine habituated family groups who can tolerate the
presence of humans for a brief period every day. En route to the gorillas, your guide will point out signs
of previous gorilla activity, including dung, nests and chewed bamboo shoots.

Day 3: Chimp tracking and the Bigodi Swamp Walk

Have breakfast and head to the trekking point where you will receive some briefing on the dos and don’ts during chimp trekking. Thereafter, you will proceed to trek the chimps in the Kibale Forest. An experienced ranger guide will take you chimp tracking and you will be marveled by the sights of primates here. Once you locate the chimpanzees, you will have a full hour with them. Return to your accommodation for some rest time and lunch. Later go out for the Bigodi swamp walk. The Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is a fascinating area, located in Magombe swamp. This area is recognized for its extensive array of biodiversity among which are several primates’ species like the baboons, black &
white Columbus monkeys, vervet monkey and the L’Hoest monkey. The Bigodi is also a paradise for bird watchers. Among the major bird species within the sanctuary is the grand Blue Turaco

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth NP and take the Boat trip on the Kazinga Channel

After breakfast you will Exit Kibale NP and continue your journey to Queen Elizabeth NP. Queen is Uganda’s second largest park, located at the base of the majestic Rwenzori Mountain range, adjacent to Lake Edward and Lake George. The park’s diverse ecosystem which include sprawling savannah makes it the ideal habitat for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees and over 600 species of birds. You will reach Queen early enough to rest, have lunch and later go for a boat safari along the
Kazinga Channel which joins Lake George to Lake Edward. You will surely be fascinated by the concentrations of giant hippos, elephants and crocodiles among others. You will also see many varieties of birds at the water shores. Return to the accommodation for dinner and later overnight rest.

Be up early and have your breakfast. Proceed for a morning game drive in the park, along the Kasenyi plains and be on the look for Lions, Elephants, Leopards (though hard to spot), Bushbucks, Cape Buffaloes, Waterbucks, Giant Forest Hogs, Uganda kob among others. Return to your accommodation for some rest time and lunch.
In the afternoon you will go for the explosion crater drive. The drive is basically sightseeing with very spectacular view of the breathtaking scenery in and around Queen. There is also plenty of wildlife to see along the drive although commonest are sights of Cape Buffaloes plus Elephants. Return to the accommodation for relaxation, dinner and the overnight stay.

Be up and have your breakfast served. Go for tree-climbing lions’ sighting and thereafter transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Bwindi is a big habitat for mountain gorillas in Uganda (harboring an estimated 400 mountain gorillas – roughly half of the world’s population), including several habituated groups, which can be tracked. With a strenuous day ahead, you will do less on arrival but just check-in your accommodation, relax as you prepare for the Bwindi gorilla trekking experience the following day.

The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great primates. Once you locate a gorilla group, you will be allowed an hour in their presence. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored. Return to your lodge for some rest time and lunch. 6-Day Uganda Wildlife Safari with Gorillas

Lake Mburo National Park is the nearest park to Kampala. Traveling southwest, you will arrive at your lodge in or near the park in time for lunch. Lake Mburo N.P is one of two game parks in Uganda where visitors are allowed to go for a bush walk with an experienced ranger. When you go on a walking safari in Mburo, it is exciting to approach wildlife at such close range.
For 2 hours. You will spot buffalo, zebra, gazelle etc. as you ride while also enjoying wonderful scenery along the way. After your walking safari, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer from Lake Mburo to Bwindi

After your breakfast, this morning, continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Arriving Kabale midafternoon and you will enjoy your lunch in Kabale. After lunch, you continue to lodge for next Gorilla trek tomorrow. Optionally you can choose to go on a guided nature walk ($25 per person) to meet the Ugandans who neighbor the park. You get to learn a thing or two about the culture of the people so depending on which nature trail you take, you will have a chance to meet the traditional healer and learn how the Bwindi forest resource is used to treat people for various ailments. You can visit a local school if the school term is in session. You check-in at gorilla mist camp and enjoy your check-ins at gorilla mist camp and enjoy yours in Kabale. After lunch, you can relax at the lodge as you prepare yourself for tomorrow.

Day 4: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi transfer to Queen NP

Have an early breakfast at 6.00am and transfer to the briefing point. With packed lunch in your carry-on, listen to the briefing from the rangers on what to expect before commencing your trek. The guides will then take you through the bush, pushing your way through the undergrowth, looking for where the family of gorillas you are tracking spent the night. When you finally locate the family that you are tracking, sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other, and marvel at the
sheer size of the dominant male – the silverback. It is an extraordinary feeling sitting in the dense rainforest in the knowledge that you are in the presence of the few remaining Mountain Gorillas in the wild. After the mandatory 1 hour is up, the rangers and guides will lead you back to the starting point.
You will commence your transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arriving in the evening, you will check into Irungu Forest Safaris Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Morning game drive and boat cruise along kazinga channel

After an early breakfast, your guide will take you on a game drive to the northern sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park through the Kasenyi track in search for lions, hyenas, buffaloes, leopard, water buck, bush bucks, Uganda Kob plus many bird species including ibis, fish eagles and vultures etc. and lunch at lodge. You will embark on a boat cruise along the Kazinga channel – a major highlight of your safari. On the boat cruise, you will have the opportunity to view great numbers of wildlife including elephants, crocodiles, hippos, buffaloes and large numbers of birds like eagles, kingfishers, sparrows, doves, weaver birds, eaglets and sun birds converging at the channel waters to enjoy a sip of the natural waters. After the 3-hour boat cruise, you will then return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast today, you commence your transfer to Entebbe via Kampala. Travelling via Mbarara, you will have a chance to view the scenic valley at the rift valley escarpment. You will stop for lunch in Mbarara Agip Motel. After lunch you continue to Kampala and as you approach Kampala, you will make
a stop-over at the Equator Crossing, where the imaginary line that divides the earth into two halves passes. Here you do fun photos, buy your Uganda safari souvenir and then head to Entebbe International Airport for your departure home. Thank you for choosing remnant tours and travel.

5-Day Gorilla and Chimpanzee Tracking in Uganda

This is a trip to the famous Queen Elizabeth and Bwindi impenetrable national parks that are in position to provide a magnificent view of the rift valley floor that occupies Lake Edward and George and also enjoy the Gorillas from a close range observing adults feeding, groaning and resting as the youngsters play and move backward and forward in a pleasantly comical demonstration.

Day 1: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National park

You will be picked by our guide at 7:00am from Kampala and embark on your journey to
the famous Queen Elizabeth National park. The Park covers an area of about 1978 km2 and its position provides a magnificent view of the rift valley floor that occupies Lake Edward and George. The park has one of the highest bio diversity ratings of any national park in the world as its well known to be habitat of about 95 mammals along with 612 species of birds. You will briefly stop at the equator in Masaka town for a photo moment and en-route lunch, as you proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you can do an optional evening Game drive depending on the time that you will reach. The journey takes 5-6hours.

Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Launch cruise on Kazinga

After early breakfast, you will catch up with the early risers as your driver takes you for the morning game drive. It is an amazing experience to have great chances of spotting other wild animals like; Buffalo, Uganda kob (Uganda national antelope), Elephants, Hippos, Lions, Leopards, water bucks, warthogs and many other wild animal

After that excellent drive, you will return to your lodge for relaxation. After lunch, you will
go for an amazing launch cruise on Kazinga Channel where you will have exciting and
unforgettable memories as one of the highlights of your tour. There also a water sail which
provide a magnificent platform for photography taking and across the board game
viewing. As you retire from the boat cruise, you will drive back to the hotel for your dinner
and overnight.

Day 3: Morning game drive in Ishasha sector and then Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today after your relaxed Breakfast, Embark on your journey to Buhoma location near the famous Bwindi
impenetrable National park. This park is mostly famous for the rare mountain gorillas and the drive to
the park is incredibly scenic, passing through various local villages and the lush green countryside & hills
which characterize so much of south western Uganda. Once you are in the forest park, it is one of the
richest ecosystems in Africa and the diversity of species is a feature of the park. It provides habitat for
some 120 species of mammals, 348 species of birds, 220 species of butterflies, 27 species of frogs,
chameleons, geckos and many endangered species. Bwindi is among the most diverse forests in East
Africa with more than 1,000 flowering plant species including 163 species of trees and 104 species of
ferns. The journey takes 4 hours.

Day 4: Gorilla Tracking and Batwa talks experience

After your breakfast, along with your packed lunch, you will report to the park premises for registration by 8:00am and be briefed by Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides. You will then start to trek through the bumpy bushes in search for the amazing Gorillas. There is as well a greater opportunity of seeing other species like the birds, monkeys, chimpanzees, beautiful butterflies among others. The trek could take 1-8 hours but depending on the luck of the day and once you come across these interesting
creatures, it is a really an exciting experience watching them protest or playing with each other and it’s really a special moment being with these fabulous human like primates. The time allowed to be with these gorillas in Uganda is 1 hour and every minute of the experience is worth the time you spent in search for them. As you retire from the forest, you could take an optional activity like visiting the pigmies or you can relax at the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kampala with stopover at the Equator

Today is the last day of your trip! After your breakfast, begin your journey back to Kampala as you view beautiful scenarios along the way. You will have lunch on route thereafter proceed and have another stop over at the equator for the water experiment if you happen to have missed it on the 1st day of your trip. Proceed with the journey; your driver will drop you at your accommodation in Kampala or Entebbe.
The journey takes 7-8 hours.
